While healing at Grandma's, one day she made her famous homemade stew.  The family loves her stew.  It is one of my favorite meals.  She would put in the stew everything, but the kitchen sink as the old saying goes.

Grandma's Homemade Stew

1 1/2 lbs. stew meat or a small beef roast
3 large potatoes, peeled, cubed
2 large carrots, peeled and diced
1/2 cups chopped onions
2 large celery stalked, cubed
1 canned cut green beans, drained and washed
1 canned whole kernel corn drained and washed
1 canned diced tomatoes
1 can tomatoes sauce
salt and pepper to taste

Place cubed meat in large skillet with water.  Cook for 45 minutes to an hour or until tender.  After meat has cooked down, fry in skillet until lightly brown.

Place meat in large quartz pot.  Add all ingredients plus 1 cup water.  Low heat to medium.  Cover and simmer for 45 minutes or until vegetables are tender.  Stir occasionally.  You have got yourself some good eating.  Serve with cornbread and ice tea.

The week passed quickly.  Daddy, Jeffery and Michael returned to Grandma's.  This would be a Thanksgiving holiday I would always remember.  By the way Grandma gave me that beautiful throw to take home.
