Back at Grandma's House

It has been a while since I have written in my diary.  Many things have happened in our family while has caused me not to write.

I learned that life will many times cause you to stop and think how fragile life is for everyone.  You see Papa had an accident.  He was out in the field when he suddenly fell to the ground.  H did not return home when he normally did that afternoon.

Grandma got the local authorities quickly involved with looking for Papa.  They found him lying unconscious in some bushes. Grandma called us.

Papa was taken to the hospital where the doctors gave him 50/50 chance to come out of the coma.  Six months later, he is back at home.  The doctors said he would make a full recovery.  I thank God each day for my family.  Life truly is fragile.  We have to count our blessing every day.

It's been almost six months since we have visited Grandma and Papa. I miss them very much.  In a few days, we will take our summer trip to the country. It is absolutely beautiful at Grandma's this time of year.

Finally, school is out for the season.  We will visit for two weeks.  There is always great and exciting things to do every day.  It will be a terrific vacation.

"Carrie have you finished your packing?"  Mama called from the living room.  "Your father just called and he is getting off early this year."

"Are we getting to leave early Mama?"  I asked.

"That's right dear," she said.  "We will be leaving early in the morning."

"That's great Mama.  I am ready to see Grandma and Papa,"  Carrie said.

"Me too dear.  Me too."

I rushed to finish my packing.  It is going to be a great summer.

Beautiful Summer Quotes

And so with the sunshine and the great bursts of leaves growing on the trees, just as things grow in fast movies, I had that familiar conviction that life was beginning over again with the summer.
F. Scott Fitzgerald

Summer afternoon—summer afternoon; to me those have always been the two most beautiful words in the English language.
Henry James

Summer will end soon enough, and childhood as well.
George R. R. Martin

All in all, it was a never-to-be-forgotten summer — one of those summers which come seldom into any life, but leave a rich heritage of beautiful memories in their going — one of those summers which, in a fortunate combination of delightful weather, delightful friends and delightful doing, come as near to perfection as anything can come in this world.
L.M. Montgomery
